Pack your bags for these luxurious yurts and eco-conscious resorts

Planning a trip to Asia can be daunting when there are so many superb accommodations across all price points – from quirky hostels suitable for solo travellers to luxurious seaside resorts for a romantic getaway. If you don't know where to start and have the taste (and budget) for the region's swankiest pads, then this latest list of the best hotels in Asia is for you.
Fodor's Travel, known for its destination guidebooks and online travel content, worked with more than 750 travel writers and hotel professionals to produce a list of the 100 best hotels in the world for 2025. A massive undertaking, considering the United Nations World Travel Organisation's estimate that there are 700,000 hotels in the world.
Of the 100 best hotels, 22 spectacular hotels in Asia have made the list. Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, India, and more are represented here – but Japan has the best showing, with five hotels on the list (and three in Kyoto alone!). The list is also a great reflection of the many fantastic stays and experiences you can find in Asia, ranging from city slickers like Bulgari Hotel Tokyo to hillside retreats like COMO Uma Ubud.

Aman Resorts is synonymous with luxury and excellence, and this property in Phuket is no different. Find tranquility in peaceful pavilions and private villas that face the gorgeous Andaman Sea or engage with the treasures of the island via experiences like private surfing, Thai cooking classes, and more.
If you've never been to (or heard of) Cam Ranh City, the Aman Cam Rahn is a reason to put it on your bucket list. This gorgeous five-star resort is marked by grand, colonial-style villas showing off Cam Rahn's stunning crystal blue bays. There's great food to be had too – try the different flavours of Vietnam at the celebrated Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar.
COMO Uma Uma Ubud is the best of both worlds, steps from Bali's artist town but shielded from Ubud's hubbub. A highlight is the COMO Shambhala Retreat, where guests can rejuvenate with award-winning spa treatments inspired by traditional beauty practices or private yoga lessons.
Live like Kyoto aristocracy at this private ryokan, which you can only access via a boat ride along the Oi River. Fodor's Travel highlights the hotel's minimalist rooms, which have windows designed to frame the mountain foliage all year round.
An eco-friendly resort nestled in a lush valley in the southwest of Pokhara. Wake up to views of sprawling rice fields from one of 14 villas and dine at an in-house restaurant that sources from its own organic farm.
