Ciudad Condal evokes the aesthetics of an elegant German brewery, all wood and waiters dressed like naval officers, and the prevailing style in places on Passeig de Gracia. For some reason, it also appears in international guides as a typical Spanish tapas bar. That is, a place for everyone, where you've no doubt been at some time, thanks to its location and opening hours. To have a beer with a friend, something to eat during the day, read the newspaper alone with a coffee or, if you're a tourist, to have the obligatory paella before you take the plane home.
