7Roots was born out of Catarina Branco and her husband Luís Segura’s desire to create a place to linger in Carcavelos, inspired by the Portuguese tradition of sharing petiscos and staying at the table with no rush to leave. Set on Praça do Junqueiro – a square with strong personal ties to the owner – the restaurant focuses on classic small plates such as alheira croquettes, huevos rotos, pica-pau and the house bacalhau à 7Roots, alongside heartier mains like Portuguese-style fillet steak, pork cheeks, confit octopus and vegan options. A proper bar programme, with classic and signature cocktails, completes the warm, laid-back atmosphere the founders want to turn into a true home from home for their customers.
