Logan Square’s most talked-about new bar isn’t open yet—and it’s already making a strong case for being your next late-night go-to.

The Radicle, the upcoming all-day cocktail bar and restaurant from the team behind Daisies, is taking shape in the restaurant’s original Milwaukee Avenue space and is set to open early next year. But ahead of that debut, the crew is offering a rare sneak peek with a New Year’s Eve preview event that doubles as a first look at what’s coming next for one of the neighborhood’s most beloved hospitality teams.

Named one of Bon Appétit’s eight must-visit restaurants to try this fall, The Radicle is led by Daisies chef and co-owner Joe Frillman, a James Beard semifinalist, alongside bar director Nicole Yarovinsky, who’s been nominated twice for Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards. The concept blends coastal Italian drinking culture with Midwestern ingredients and hospitality, bringing an easygoing, late-night energy to Logan Square that Frillman says has been missing.

Designed by Debaun Studio, the interiors are familiar but polished, making a warm room that feels built for lingering over spritzes after work, long dinners or one more drink than planned. Much of the furniture has been repurposed, continuing Daisies’ sustainability-forward ethos.

Drinks are the headline here and affordability is part of the point. The Italian-inspired cocktails here are bitter, bright and aperitivo-friendly, with a lineup that includes the Sunday Negroni and a Sbagliato Rossini made with Lambrusco and strawberries. Low-proof and non-alcoholic options are baked into the menu as well.

Food is snackable, but still serious—and you’ll find more seafood here than at Daisies. Some early menu highlights include deviled eggs topped with trout roe, crispy lake perch with whitefish tonnato, chilled seafood plates and pizzas finished with toppings like fennel sausage or summer peaches. Vegetable-driven dishes, which are very much a Daisies signature, still have a starring role.

If you’re impatient to see it all in person, the New Year’s Eve preview offers two paths: a 21-and-up cocktail party at The Radicle from 10:30pm to 1:30am with drinks, bites and a midnight toast or a three-course prix fixe dinner at Daisies just down the block.

Late-night culture might’ve taken a hit, but The Radicle looks ready to bring some of it back, one $10 cocktail at a time.
