Review
One of the legendary names of Pula gastronomy, the Černul family’s Vela Nera moved from its suburban-marina spot to the out-of-town village of Šišan a couple of years ago. It still aims for the culinary highs, with local seafood and inland Istrian dishes served with aplomb in a smart renovated-farmhouse ambience. The Černuls are known for mixing tradition-grounded classics with imaginative signature dishes of their own – try the risotto with scampi and peaches, or the stewed sea bass with black olives. Finish off with some scrumptious dessert.
