Following his inclusion in the Scotland-wide 'Generation' contemporary art project, Charles Avery becomes the subject of a major solo exhibition as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival. His lifelong project 'The Islanders' - encompassing painting, drawing, sculpture and text - is dedicated to capturing fragments of a parallel world populated with garish yet magnetic people and lithe greyhound-like creatures who stalk the humans' periphery.
