Whatever your holiday vibe, chances are there’s a Greek island to match it. While Mykonos remains the playground of the loud and the proud and Santorini has become the go-to for a romantic getaway, Paros has emerged as the retreat for those who prefer laid-back luxury. This is the island of whitewashed houses, cobbled lanes and picture-perfect harbour towns. Whether you’re looking to feel the golden sand between your toes on one of Greece’s most iconic shores or prefer to be tucked away in a sprawling stone mansion in the mountains, here is our selection of the best Airbnbs in Paros.

How do you get to Paros?

Ferry: The high-speed ferry is the most popular way to get to Paros. The journey from Piraeus (Athens) to Parikia takes under three hours, while the travel time from Rafina, one of the mainland’s other busy ports, is three hours and 15 minutes.

Flying: Paros has a domestic airport with multiple daily flights from Athens (ATH) and Thessaloniki (SKG).

Island hopping: If you’re planning to visit more than one of Greece’s idyllic isles, Paros is the perfect central hub; it’s only 30-45 minutes by ferry to Mykonos, Naxos, or Syros.

What's the best way to travel around Paros?

While Parikia and Naousa are walkable, a car is a must for reaching the best villas and hidden beaches.

Rent a Jeep: Many of the best stays are located down unpaved, sandy tracks. A small SUV or 4x4 is the local vehicle of choice.

The Antiparos ferry: Don't miss the 7-minute car ferry from Pounta to Antiparos. It runs every 30 minutes well into the night and is the only way to reach the neighbouring island’s most exclusive dining spots.

When's the best time to visit?

Peak Season (July – August): Hot, lively and expensive. This is when the island's beach clubs are at their most bustling.

The 'Sweet Spot’ Months (June and September): The water is warm, the crowds are manageable, and the Meltemi winds aren't yet at full strength.

The Secret Season (May and October): Perfect for hikers and those seeking a ‘quiet luxury’ experience at a significantly lower price.

The best Airbnbs in Paros

1. Best with a pool: Modern villa in Parikia

Location: Parikia

If the words ‘private infinity pool’ have you wriggling your toes in glee, this glamorous villa is for you. Perched on a ridge near Paros’s capital, Parikia, it’s a masterclass in Cycladic architecture with a modern twist, with interiors that blend whitewashed walls with warm wood and Parian stone. The pièce de résistance of the place, though, is its aforementioned 40-square-foot infinity pool, which comes with its own unheated hydromassage corner. Jaw-dropping sunsets over Parikia’s bay are best enjoyed from the water (obvs), while an adjacent shaded terrace is ideal for a slow morning coffee with a view.

Time Out tip: In the mood for a cultural excursion? Panagia Ekatontapiliani, the 4th-century ‘Church of 100 Doors’ and a cornerstone of Greek history, is located a few meters from the port of Parikia. It is one of the best-preserved Paleo-Christian monuments in Greece

Sleeps: Seven

Price: From €495.00 per night. Minimum four-night stay

2. Best for big groups: Mansion with a private gym in Naousa

Location: Naousa

With a rooftop bar, pool table, private gym, olive grove and two-level pool which feels like it's hanging over the edge of the world (in a good way), this villa is so decked out that it would probably be easier to list what it doesn’t come with. Each of the six spacious bedrooms has its own private terrace or balcony, offering views that stretch all the way to Naxos. Located in the hills surrounding the fishing village of Naoussa, with 180° views of the Aegean Sea, the hillside estate is perfect if you’re seeking ‘off-grid’ luxury and a bit of peace and quiet.

Time Out tip: Vibrant Naoussa is less than a seven-minute drive. Home to the famous Ragoussis Bakery, we’d recommend popping into town in the morning to sample its impressive selection of sweet and savoury treats

Sleeps: 12

Price: From €2,700 per night. Minimum three-night stay

3. Most luxurious: Waterfront estate with private chef

Location: Parikia

As holiday homes go, an expansive estate offering a private chef, at-home yoga and pilates sessions, mani-pedis and wine tastings is up there with the boujie-er options. If that wasn’t enough, this swanky stay is also decked out with two outdoor dining areas with barbecues and a private infinity pool, which is directly accessible from each of the four bedrooms. Midnight dip, anyone?

Time Out tip: Make like Indiana Jones and head to the nearby Delion Sanctuary of Apollo, founded in the late 9th century BC on the top of a hill on the northern side of Parikia. On a clear day, you can even see the sacred island of Delos from which the temple got its name

Sleeps: Eight

Price: From €879.33 per night. Minimum three-night stay

4. Most remote: Secluded villa with private gym in Elitas

Locaiton: Elitas

If the thought of a few nights tucked away on the slopes of a peaceful green valley, with views of lush fields, rocky hills and the ocean in the distance sounds like your idea of bliss, then this small, quiet hillside villa in the settlement of Elitas is your perfect staycay. Private infinity pool? Tick. Breathtaking sunset views from the terrace? Also tick. Plus, this place is described as being ideal for digital nomads. Time to make working from home feel less like work, we think.

Time Out tip: With daily cleaning included in the price, this home from home offers the perks of a hotel stay, with added privacy

Sleeps: Six

Price: From €500 per night. Minimum four-night stay

5. Most peaceful retreat: Expansive estate with a pool for four

Location: Tsoukalas

Sometimes, the best thing about a holiday is the feeling that you can finally take a breath. Luckily, this quiet oasis has an abundance of space to breathe. The 7,000-square-metre estate is kitted out with two king bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, both of which open onto a vast open-plan indoor and outdoor living areas, including a 150 square metre terrace, 13 metre pool, outdoor kitchen and barbecue. Located in the quiet coastal settlement of Tsoukalas, it’s also just minutes from the iconic Golden Beach, a 700-meter-long stretch of fine, golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise water which will have you diving into the ebbing sea faster than you can say ‘Aegean’.

Time Out tip: Golden Beach is world-famous for its steady Meltemi winds, making it the perfect spot for windsurfing and wingfoiling in the Cyclades

Sleeps: Four

Price: From €445 per night. Minimum seven-night stay

6. Best location: Sea-view villa near Naousa

Location: Kolympithres

Naousa’s picture-perfect vistas and maze-like whitewashed alleyways have garnered it the nickname ‘Kodak City’, because every snapshot is postcard worthy. And you’ll certainly be able to snap some stunning piccies at this spacious four-bedroom villa located just 10 minutes from the city centre. Sun yourself by the pool, let the wind blow through your hair on the upstairs terrace and cook up something special in the private alfresco kitchen.

Time Out tip: The in-built sound system makes this place perfect for hosting if you happen to have friends staying nearby

Sleeps: Eight

Price: From €900 per night. Minimum four-night stay

7. Best on the beach: Luxury villa near Golden Beach

Location: Marpissa

Fancy waking up each morning to the sound of the surf? This eight-man beachfront villa is basically as close as you can get to the water without taking a dip. The private pool and expansive outdoor patio, with its sun loungers and teak armchairs, overlook the crystal-clear water and the island of Naxos in the distance. Plus, tucked away on the other side of the newly-renovated home you’ll find an outdoor dining area and barbecue sheltered from the wind, making it ideal for long evenings in the open air.

Time Out tip: At the end of the garden, you’ll find a small coastal path leading either to Golden Beach or the village of Piso Livadi, which is known for its fresh fish tavernas right on the water’s edge

Sleeps: Eight

Price: From €812.57 per night. Minimum seven-night stay

8. Best in the mountains: Villa with pool in Marathi

Location: Marathi

Villa Marona might be the furthest inland of any home on our list, but given that Paros is fairly petite (the island stretches just 22km in length and 13km in width), a coastal view is still guaranteed. Resting high on the mountains amid ancient marble quarries, yet just seven minutes outside Parikia, the estate’s location is one of its primary draws.

Time Out tip: For the animal lovers among us, look out for wild horses which roam the local mountains in the mornings

Sleeps: Six

Price: From €691.20 per night. Minimum five-night stay
