Black Sheep Restaurants has been revitalising The Magistracy within Tai Kwun since 2022, creating a dynamic dining destination through a three-stage project. The first stage of this transformation is the British-inspired restaurant Magistracy Dining Room and Botanical Garden. Now in its second phase, the century-old proclaimed monument debuts the opulent Indian restaurant Prince and the Peacock. Helmed by chef Palash Mitra from New Punjab Club, the new restaurant presents modern interpretations of regional dishes inspired by the royal kitchens of the princely states of India.

Dish prices range from $38 to $238, and servings are generous for sharing. Must-tries include the warming spiced soup Rasam ($88), piquant chilli tiger prawns, Tandoori Zafrani Paneer Tikka ($168), slow-cooked yellow lentils, Dal Moradabad ($138), lamb shank curry, Gosht Rogan Josh ($208), char-grilled whole white pomfret, Machli Angeethi ($238), and the lamb shank biryani ($238). Trattoria Felino x Prince and the Peacock

Prepare for a meeting of cuisines in a pairing rarely seen at Trattoria Felino and Prince and the Peacock’s two-night-only dinner collaboration! Chef Marcello Scognamiglio will join hands with chef Palash Mitra on January 28 and 29 for a showcase of comforting Italian flavours and vibrant Indian cooking, emphasising the deep traditions, bold aromas, and soulful natures of Italian and Indian gastronomy through a special 11-dish menu ($1,080). From golgappas filled with provola cheese, pesto, and tomato ragu and meatballs Kashmiri kofta served with homemade poppyseed focaccia, to tandoori lobster tortellini with makhni sauce, chicken leg biryani, and chai tea panna cotta with jalebi and rabdi, the creative dishes developed by the two chefs bring together the best of both cuisines and restaurants, promising a unique culinary experience at Prince and the Peacock.
