One of Hong Kong’s biggest annual sporting events, the Hong Kong Marathon has been running for almost 30 years, with around 70,000 runners taking part each year. The main event is the 42-km marathon route from Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui to Victoria Park in Causeway Bay. Other events include the half marathon, the 10-km run, and the 10-km wheelchair race.
A bit of celebrity goss: screen legend Chow Yun-fat himself has registered for the 10-km event this year. For the past two years, he had been completing the half marathon, but 2026 sees the actor taking it easier and going back to the 10-km instead. Let’s see if he’ll beat his previous record of one hour and three minutes.
