The brand new Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration will host the inaugural solo show from one of illustration’s most exciting rising stars – Murugiah. Exploring identity and mental health through vibrant prints, paintings and sketches, Murugiah’s newly comissioned works will draw on the artist’s Sri Lankan heritage and Welsh upbringing. It will delve into his kaleidoscopic, sometimes macabre world influenced by Hollywood film, sci-fi, Japanese anime and 2000s era pop-punk. The exact opening date is still TBC, with the museum set to open in May 2026.
