Right now, London’s pizza game is hotter than a bubbling pool of melted mozzarella. Forbici, one of the best pizza restaurants in the world, opened its first London location this month, while west London pizzeria Napoli on the Road was crowned the best pizza restaurant in the world in September.

Here at Time Out, we take cheesy Italian goodness very, very seriously, which is why we’ve just unveiled our list of the best pizzerias across the Big Smoke. New entrant Ozzy’s Apizza topped the list in 2026, followed by Seven Dials’ New York slice-maker Carmy’s and roving pizza makers Dough Hands, which ranked third on our list.

Viral NY-style pizzeria Alley Cats scored 11th place on this year’s ranking, and it’s just announced that it’s opening a fifth London site. The Italian-American joint first graced the capital in December 2023 with the opening of its bustling Marylebone flagship, before debuting additional sites in Chelsea, Westbourne Grove and Portobello Road.

Now, Alley Cats is crossing the Thames and opening a new pizzeria in Battersea. Details of the site down south, including the opening date and exact address, are yet to be released, but if the other sites are anything to go on, SW11 locals can expect to chow down on classics like 14-inch pizza pies, the Philly cheesesteak subs, the deep-fried carbonara bites.

Alley Cats debuted a new menu, the Fat Cat Squares, an interpretation of the thick and crusty Sicilian square, at its Portobello site earlier this year. So, we could be in with a chance of some new exclusive menu items when the Battersea site is up and running. An exact opening date is yet to be revealed.
