The Shitheads

This unusual dark comedy kicks off the Royal Court’s seventieth birthday season in its tiny Upstairs theatre. In contrast to the big names Downstairs, the season in the studio theatre almost all consists of show by generally unknown playwrights, submitted via the Court’s Open Submissions system. The debut play from Jack Nicholls, The Shitheads is a drama about a group of cavepeople whose idyll is shattered when some strangers turn up at their cave. Royal Court boss David Byrne co-directs a cast of six with Aneesha Srinivasan.
