A colorful plant-based Mexican restaurant from New York has officially landed in Miami. JaJaJa Mexicana, the cult-favorite concept known for its playful energy and crowd-pleasing vegan comfort fare, just opened in Wynwood, a fitting location for its first outpost beyond the five boroughs.
Located at 2775 NW Third Avenue, JaJaJa Wynwood is the brand’s sixth location. The 4,500-square-foot space brings everything fans love about the NYC original together—bold flavors, an extensive bar and a spirited approach to Mexican street food—while leaning into Miami’s rhythms.
JaJaJa was founded in 2017 on the Lower East Side by longtime friends Koorosh Bakhtiar and Nima Garos with a simple but ambitious goal to make plant-forward Mexican food that anyone would crave, vegan or not. JaJaJa quickly earned a loyal following and expanded to include five New York locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and beyond.
The menu, led by executive chef Ricky Huitzil, sticks close to JaJaJa’s greatest hits while featuring Miami-only specials inspired by Cuban, Caribbean and coastal flavors. The dishes are fully plant-based, indulgent and fresh. Standouts include the grande nachos loaded with plant-based chorizo and habanero queso, deeply savory birria-style tacos served with consommé and enchiladas suizas smothered in roasted tomato and coconut queso.
The bar is the largest JaJaJa has ever built. With more than 100 agave-based spirits, the Wynwood location boasts tequila, mezcal, sotol and raicilla alongside Mexican sake and a slate of Miami-exclusive cocktails. Drinks like the Pinche Lada, a clarified michelada riff, and a mole-spiked Manhattan are designed for both serious cocktail fans and anyone just looking to have a good time.
Weekend DJ sets will add to the party atmosphere.
The design of the space mixes JaJaJa’s signature pastels with tropical touches, arches, lush greenery and a striking penny-tile mosaic that gives a nod to the original New York location.
Open for lunch, dinner and late nights (with brunch coming soon) JaJaJa Wynwood is a big, bold step forward for Miami's plant-based dining scene.
