Nothing says Halloween in New York like watching a demonic haunting unfold while someone nearby tries to find the M50. This October 31, Paranormal Activity is getting a free outdoor screening in the Theater District—with a chance to win Broadway tickets, too.
The Broadway production of Paranormal Activity will host the alfresco screening of the 2007 horror movie that inspired it, on Saturday, October 31, right outside the stage show's home, the August Wilson Theatre. The freaky flick will start at 5pm on West 52nd Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue, turning a stretch of Midtown into a real-life fright fest. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket, chair or something comfortable to sit on.
And there’s also a potential treat to go with the terror: Each attendee will have a chance to win a pair of free tickets to a future Broadway performance of Paranormal Activity.

The original Oren Peli-directed film helped turn ordinary bedrooms and static camera shots into pure nightmare fuel, launching a horror-movie franchise that eventually grew to seven feature films. If the upcoming screening leaves you curious about the stage version, expect a different story entirely—written by Levi Holloway and directed by Felix Barrett, the play follows Lou and James, a couple who relocate from Chicago to London hoping to escape their past. Naturally, the fresh start comes with complications that a new postal code can’t solve.
Cher Álvarez and Travis A. Knight play the couple, joined in the stage cast by Shannon Cochran and Eva Kaminsky. The production’s creative team includes illusion designer Chris Fisher and sound designer Gareth Fry. The Broadway run has also been extended by eight weeks, through February 28, 2027, giving prospective giveaway winners more time to meet their next nightmare.
For Halloween itself, though, the plan is simple: Bring a seat, find the screen and get ready to become extremely suspicious of your apartment afterward.
