If you come to this place for holiday schmaltz, well, have we got the show for you. But if you come to this place for unplaceable accent work, distracting wigs and maybe a viral meme (or three), then we have just the reason to ignore Johnny Depp in Ebenezer and make your way to New World Stages.

Fro the delightfully deranged mind of playwright Kevin Zak comes a new stage comedy, A Kidman Carol, in which Cate Blanchett is visited by the ghosts of three Nicole Kidmans who are determined to save her soul, Hollywood and the joys of raving in Ibiza.

RECOMMENDED: Off-Broadway Week is back with matchless two-for-one ticket deals

After a sold-out developmental run last year, A Kidman Carol will get an official Off Broadway engagement at New World Stages, with Kidman played by Titanique co-creator and Olivier Award winner Marla Mindelle (that's one Olivier more than Kidman!) and Drama Desk Award nominee Josh Sharp (ta-da!) as Blanchett. (Those two are tied in Drama Desk noms, BTW.) The limited six-week run begins November 16 at New World Stages, with an official opening on November 30.

Written by Zak (Ginger Twinsies) and directed by Skylar Fox, the comedy finds Academy Award-winning legend and Hollywood Scrooge Blanchett on Oscar's Eve dealing with visits from three Kidmans, forcing her on a journey through the Australian outback, a Dickensian present-day Hollywood and a terrifying awards-season future. If she doesn't heed Kidman's message, Blanchett risks the destruction of her soul, cinema and, possibly, the entire world.

Or, as the announcement puts it: "A Kidman Carol is a vicious, chaotic fever dream...that will leave you not only entertained, but somehow reborn. How can we find hope again after discovering the dream you wished would come true....might actually be a nightmare?" Oh naurrrr!

The strictly limited engagement consists of 54 performances, ending December 30. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, October 14 at 10am. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

New World Stages is located at 340 W 50th St. For more information and to sign up for pre-sale, click here.
