A slew of mojitos, margaritas and sangrias draw students, artists and old-timers, who tumble through the breezy space’s veranda doors and onto the narrow outside patio. But it’s the flavorful Latin food that distinguishes Yuca Bar from run-of-the-mill cantinas. Nibblers can choose from an extensive assortment of tapas, including tuna ceviche served in a coconut shell or a trio of tantalizing empanadas. Those with heartier appetites can have their pick of more substantial dishes like churrasco skirt steak or guava-barbecued short ribs—or, better yet, sample a variety of meats with a colossal carnitas platter.
