This massive, barn-like church, built between 1532 and 1640, has a Gothic structure but Renaissance decoration in its façade and Corinthian capitals. Among the paintings in the side chapels are a Descent from the Cross by Luca Giordano; pieces by John Armleder were added in 2000.
Murals by Thomas Couture adorn the 19th-century Lady chapel. There is a magnificent 8,000-pipe organ, and free recitals are held at 5.30pm on Sundays.
