Built in the latter parts of the 1700s, Sri Kailasanathar Swamy Devasthanam and Sri Bala Selva Vinayaga Moorthy Kovil are iconic landmarks in Colombo. Located at Captain’s Garden, Maradana, the kovils are believed to be the oldest in Colombo. The elaborately decorated gopurams reflect the main deity of the respective abodes – Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesh.
