There’s a funky beach vibe to this place that makes it a pleasing antidote to the classic-posh hotels in Lausanne’s lakefront district of Ouchy. The main reason to visit is its outdoor terrace upstairs, which sports a fine view of Lake Geneva and the general hubbub of Ouchy with its harbour, ferry port and playground. By day it’s a pleasant place to sit and have a coffee or lunch (steaks, salads, pasta dishes) but it’s best to come in the evening for a beer or cocktail on the terrace as you watch the sun go down.
