Review
Unapologetically simple, Jacky’s sandwich bar doesn’t do fancy, but its hot and cold sandwiches and burgers are certainly tasty. Ready-made sandwiches (chicken, pork, tuna salad) are a notch above other pre-made sandwiches in Lausanne as they seem to retain their freshness, while its made-to-order hot chicken sandwiches and burgers regularly create queues. The popular Jacky’s burger can’t compete with other burger joints in Lausanne for the quality of the meat, but as a budget, fast-food option it's hard to beat. The ciabatta-style bun is fresh, Jacky’s special sauce is pleasingly tangy and the chips (to be ordered separately) are a worthy accompaniment. A sit-down branch on Rue du Maupas has an smart, evening feel and a bar to boot, while the takeaway-only branch on Rue Etraz is great for picking up lunch on the hoof.
