Dreaming of a tropical getaway? We’ve got you. Qantas has just launched a huge sale across its Pacific network, with more than 18,000 discounted seats to eight island destinations. For Sydneysiders, that means return flights to Fiji, Norfolk Island and more from just $599.

The week-long sale kicked off today, Tuesday, October 20, and runs until Monday, October 26 at 11.59pm AEDT, unless sold out prior. Discounted fares cover selected travel dates between November 2026 and September 2027, so you can plan a summer getaway or lock in a winter escape for next year.

And there are some pretty solid reasons to consider a trip across the Pacific. According to Qantas, one in every 30 overseas trips taken by Australians is to the Pacific Islands, with more than 430,000 trips to Fiji alone in the 2025-26 financial year. Wondering where you can go from Sydney? Here are the destinations to add to your holiday wish list.

First up, Fiji is on sale from $599 return, with travel on selected dates between January 26 and March 22, 2027. It’s a chance to visit after the peak summer holiday crowds have thinned, when the islands are at their lush, green best.

For a quieter getaway closer to home, Norfolk Island is also on sale from $599 return, with travel available between June and August 2027. Expect mild days – prime hiking weather for discovering the island’s walking trails and World Heritage-listed convict sites.

If you’re keen to venture further into the Pacific, return flights to Tonga are available from $699 return, with travel dates from July 24, 2027. This lines up with humpback whale season, when the whales arrive in Tongan waters to breed and calve.

There are also deals on destinations that require a connecting flight via Brisbane. Vanuatu starts at $679 return, with Palau from $999, the Solomon Islands from $1,049 and Samoa from $1,149. These fares offer a few more options for travellers looking to explore beyond the usual island holiday faves.

And if you prefer to fly in style, Qantas has discounted Business fares too – including return flights from Sydney to Norfolk Island from $1,099, Tonga from $1,599 and Fiji from $2,649.

All Qantas fares include checked baggage, complimentary food and drinks, and inflight entertainment. Just keep in mind that sale fares are subject to availability, selected travel dates and blackout periods, and some itineraries involve a stopover.

Ready to start planning? You can explore the available dates and book through Qantas’ Pacific Islands Red Tail Sale. The sale ends at 11.59pm AEDT on Monday, October 26, unless fares sell out earlier. See you on island time.
