Sailor Moon returns to USJ for the first time since 2022 with a 4D attraction and an all-new ride

Sailor Moon fans, we’ve got some great news: the Sailor Guardians are returning to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka for the first time since 2022. The comeback will feature two attractions as part of USJ’s Universal Cool Japan 2027 event, which celebrates the park’s 25th anniversary: the revival of the fan-favourite Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe 4-D attraction and an all-new Sailor Moon Story Ride.
This marks the fourth time Sailor Moon has teamed up with USJ, following previous collaborations in 2018, 2019 and 2022. The beloved manga series has grown into a global pop-culture phenomenon, and there’s even a permanent Sailor Moon attraction now in Tokyo. For this latest comeback, visitors can expect an immersive 4D experience alongside the new Story Ride, as well as a range of Sailor Moon-themed food and merchandise.
The popular Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Miracle 4-D: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe is set to return at the end of this year, running from December 2 2026 to April 5 2027. The immersive 4D experience was a hit with visitors during its previous run and even made its way to Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026.
Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe combines 3D visuals with thrilling action, putting you right in the middle of the story as Sailor Moon and the nine Sailor Guardians team up to fend off a series of attacks. There are also plenty of lighter moments, with the Guardians posing and gracefully dancing in their dresses at a glamorous ball.
The new Sailor Moon Story Ride will also run from December 2 2026 to April 5 2027. Unlike the 4D attraction, this is a proper ride, although USJ has yet to reveal many details about what to expect. More information on the attraction, as well as the Sailor Moon-themed merchandise, food and drinks, will be announced at a later date.
