Japanese hand rolls get a plant based makeover as KANORI teams up with Plantiful for a second year of Vegetarian Festival specials. The limited-edition set reworks familiar Japanese flavours into five vegan rolls: unagi vegan uses aubergine in place of grilled eel, while tomato akami vegan swaps tuna’s lean red flesh for juicy tomato. Mushroom truffle brings earthy depth, avocado truffle caviar pairs creamy avocado with sea grape ‘caviar’ and tofu yuzu beetroot provides a fresh, tangy opening bite. Dining in? Add crispy ankimo J, a crunchy seaweed bite filled with creamy tofu inspired by monkfish liver. Eating plant-based needn’t mean rolling back on flavour.
Available until October 31 at all KANORI Hand Roll Bar branches, with delivery via Grab. Crispy Ankimo J is available for dine-in only. More information: Plantiful
