Copenhagen has risen in popularity recently as one of the best destinations for a weekend city break. Whether you're a tourist travelling from afar or a fellow Dane looking for a change of scenery, renting an Airbnb for a few days is a great way to see the city and experience it like a true local.

The capital of Denmark, one of the world's happiest cities, is a gorgeous place with brightly coloured buildings, amazing food, lots of culture, rich history and architectural design, making it a place worth exploring with lots to do and see. And few cities offer such a resplendent selection of Airbnbs as the Danish capital.

No matter your trip, whether you’re hunting for a table at Copenhagen’s fabulous restaurants, spending your days in its captivating museums or boogieing it out thanks to its exhilarating nightlife, there’s usually a phenomenal Airbnb to fit the bill. Here are our favourite Airbnbs right here in Copenhagen.

Time Out tip: The easiest – and quickest – way to get around Copenhagen is on two wheels, but if you prefer to hop on public transport, the DOT ticket app is your best friend.

Updated in January 2026: We think this list is pretty cracking already, but it's even better now that we've added this houseboat in the heart of the city for a truly authentic experience (and one you might recognise from a certain TV show).

3. The urban-chic two-floor penthouse in Indre By

Best for: Bigger groups.

You’ll struggle to find a more gob-smacking apartment in all of Copenhagen than this one: a two-storey penthouse with room for six, two bathrooms, two balconies, a spiral staircase and many, many more fancy touches. Immaculately well-decorated (including some fantastic hanging chairs), it’s the epitome of swish, stylish, practical Scandi design. And all this is just a few minutes’ walk from the Little Mermaid, Nyhavn and Amalienborg, ideally located to explore the Danish capital by foot, bike or boat. Honestly, if you can afford it, there are few places better.

4. The one-bed apartment on South Harbour

Best for: Bigger groups.

I spent the weekend at this gorgeous contemporary one-bed apartment in a modern residential block, just along the South Harbour (about a 15-20-minute bus ride from the centre). I didn't spend much time in the neighbourhood, but from what I could tell, it was very peaceful, home to a mix of young professionals, students and families. This chic apartment is pretty snug, so expect style and functionality. And by that, I mean a lounge-by-day and bedroom-by-night kind of vibe, courtesy of the pullout sofa bed. From the wall-mounted bookshelf to the candles to the stacked mags and toiletries, it felt like home. Food-wise, you'll find a local bar and grill just below the apartments, while the huge shopping centre Fisketorvet is just a short walk away should you need a cheap fast-food pit stop or indeed, some retail therapy…

Time Out tip: Want to save money on dining out? Get a little cosy by lighting the candles, making some dinner, and enjoying your favourite series.

Price: From €111 per night.

Beds: 1 bedroom, 1 bed, 1 bathroom, sleeps 2.

Location: Sydhavnen/South Harbour.
