If the only thing that gets you out on a run is the promise of a sweet treat or a dirty burger at the end of it, then we’ve got an event that will surely be right up your street.

This Sunday (November 1) Uber Eats is hosting a ‘Morsel Marathon’. It’s not actually the length of a marathon, it’s 11.5km. Instead of 26 miles to endure, there are 26 checkpoints where participants get to have a small break and a bite of food from a top neighbourhood joint or chain restaurant. That’s a snack every 0.4km or so.

Hundreds of runners from the capital’s swathe of run clubs are expected to take part, swapping energy gels for something much tastier. They’ll be fuelled by everything from mini pizzas and gyoza to chicken bites and pastries in what Uber Eats calls a ‘moving tasting menu’.

The route around east London has been mapped by Charlie Dark, the founder of Run Dem Crew (you can find out where else in London he loves to run here). Participating London restaurants include Tofu Vegan, Beigel Bake, Bleecker Burger and Roti King alongside chains like Ole and Steen, Joe and the Juice, Wagamama and Rosa’s Thai.
