La Dolfina Polo Café offers a different kind of lunch in a prime location in Palermo, just a few steps from MALBA. The restaurant combines a spacious, bright dining room with décor inspired by the world of polo and a menu focused on familiar flavors, generous portions and a few unexpected sides.

We went to check out La Dolfina Polo Café and tried several of its dishes, from a classic provoleta with roasted peppers and oregano to a beef milanesa made with bife de chorizo and served with confit garlic aioli, whole-grain mustard and hot sauce. We also had fried potato sticks, roasted kabocha squash with cottage cheese, walnuts and honey, and, to finish, a chocolate mousse with candied nuts. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time, eat well and enjoy an unhurried lunch.

For a completely different kind of midday break, La Dolfina Polo Café is an ideal spot. The restaurant offers a pause from the pace of the city in a prime location, just a few steps from MALBA. The setting itself makes a difference: it’s one of those places that invites you to sit back, take your time and enjoy a leisurely lunch.

The dining room is spacious and bright, with plenty of tables and a comfortable layout. Natural light fills the space, making it feel even more open. At the back, a large wall lined with books and wine, together with paintings evoking the world of horses, gives the space its identity. There are also various polo-inspired details, such as riding helmets and saddles, integrated into the décor and adding personality to the room. The result is a polished yet relaxed setting, ideal for lunch with friends or a longer weekend meal.

To start, we ordered the provoleta with roasted peppers and oregano, a classic that works particularly well for sharing. The cheese arrives hot and melted, complemented by the sweetness of the roasted peppers and the aroma of oregano. It’s a simple, flavorful starter—the kind that always works and gets the meal off to a great start.

For the main courses, we chose the bife de chorizo milanesa with confit garlic aioli, whole-grain mustard and hot sauce. It’s a heartier take on a Buenos Aires classic, featuring a generously sized piece of beef and three sauces that let you switch up the flavor with every bite. The creamy aioli, with its pronounced garlic flavor, comes together with the whole-grain mustard and a spicy kick to give the dish extra intensity.

To accompany it, we ordered the fried potato sticks, an essential side for any milanesa, along with the roasted kabocha squash with cottage cheese, walnuts and honey. The squash is tender and slightly sweet, paired with creamy cottage cheese, crunchy walnuts and a touch of honey. It’s a different kind of side dish that adds variety to the table and contrasts nicely with the richness of the milanesa.

For dessert, we went for the chocolate mousse with candied nuts. The mousse is creamy and intensely chocolatey, while the caramelized nuts add a satisfying crunch that completes the dessert. A sweet ending to a lunch that’s as much about the food as it is about the atmosphere.

Delfino Polo Club is, ultimately, a good option for a change of scenery without going too far from the city. Its location, spacious and bright dining room, and menu combining classics with a few different options make it an ideal place to sit down for lunch and stay a little longer.
